José Martins da Cruz Jobim

Dr. José Martins da Cruz Jobim nasceu em Rio Pardo, no Rio Grande do Sul, em 1802 e falecerá no Rio de Janeiro no ano de 1878. Doutorou-se em 1828 pela Faculdade de Medicina de Paris. Do Conselho do Imperador e médico da Imperial Câmara, foi lente de Medicina Legal em 1833. Será jubilado em 1854. Ocupará o cargo de Diretor da Faculdade de Medicina do Rio de Janeiro durante trinta anos (1842-1872). O Dr. Cruz Jobim era uma das expressões mais ilustradas e magníficas da medicina brasileira no século XIX.
